The Board of Directors of Fair Hill Community Physicians provides leadership and strategic guidance to support our mission of delivering high-quality, accessible healthcare to the communities we serve. Comprised of experienced healthcare professionals, community leaders, and advocates, the board helps ensure that our organization remains focused on compassionate, patient-centered care. Their collective expertise and commitment strengthen our ability to improve health outcomes for individuals and families across Philadelphia.
Marc Hurowitz, D.O., Board Chairman
Dr. Hurowitz retired as a board-certified Family Physician in 2022. After 14 years of managing a broad-based private family practice, he served in progressive leadership roles in the Temple University Health System, including CMO of Northeastern Hospital, Associate CMO of Temple University Hospital, and CEO of Temple Physicians, Inc. and Jeanes Hospital. Dr. Hurowitz is a lifelong Philadelphia resident and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his medical degree from Des Moines University and his MBA from the Temple University Fox School of Business.
Pastor Julius Renwick, Vice Chairman / Secretary
Reverend Julius A. Renwick is a Philadelphia native and longtime faith and community leader who serves as Pastor of Mount Ephraim Baptist Church in North Philadelphia, where he has led for over 16 years and preached for more than two decades. With degrees in Organizational Management and a Master of Divinity, he has combined ministry with extensive service in healthcare, education, and community development, including roles with Temple University, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and various civic and advisory boards. Deeply committed to outreach, he remains active in mentoring, violence prevention efforts, and community–police relations, living by his motto, “100 percent for Christ.”
Ken Curry, Treasurer
Bachelor of Science in Finance from Lasalle University; C.E.O. of Precious Babies Learning Academy, Inc; President of the North 22nd Street Business Association; Vice President of the Allegheny West Foundation; Treasurer for the 39th Police District Advisory Council; Seniors’ Commissioner for the Mt. Airy Baseball Youth Organization; Board Member of the Mt. Airy Youth Football organization; Board Member of the Allegheny West Registered Community Organization
Joyce Brooks
Block Captains Committee of Nicetown and an Executive Board Member of the Nicetown Community Development Center (CDC). She’s the mother of two adult children, one granddaughter who’s a Author of Three Books and one great-granddaughter. She’s an Evangelist at Triumph Baptist and a teacher at two Bible Institutes for over thirty-five years.
Amanda Price
Currently semi-retired after a long and rewarding career in the healthcare industry spanning more than three decades. From 1988 to 2023, I served various management roles at Aetna, and later Aetna/CVS Health, where I developed extensive experience across multiple operational and clinical domains. My work focused on strengthening provider networks, ensuring regulatory compliance and quality standards, overseeing credentialing processes, supporting behavioral health initiatives, and negotiating and managing complex provider contracts.
Eleanor Reinhardt
Eleanor (Elly) Reinhardt is a nursing leader and educator who earned her diploma from Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing, a BSN from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MSN from Gwynedd Mercy University. She served in multiple clinical and academic roles, including Assistant Professor at La Salle University and Director of the Northeastern Hospital School of Nursing prior to retirement. A longtime advocate for community engagement and healthcare governance, she has served on the boards of Jeanes Hospital and the Anna T. Jeanes Foundation, where she continues to oversee its annual Community Grants Program supporting vulnerable populations in Philadelphia.
Susan VonNessen-Scanlin
Susan VonNessen-Scanlin is Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs and Interprofessional Education at Temple University’s College of Public Health and a nationally certified pediatric nurse practitioner with more than 30 years of healthcare experience. She has held senior leadership roles at Rutgers School of Nursing, including CEO of Rutgers Community Health Center (an FQHC), and has led initiatives focused on global health, population health, and the social determinants of health. Her career spans premier academic medical centers such as the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, supported by advanced degrees including a DNP, MBA, and multiple graduate nursing credentials.
Gail Pryor
Gail Pryor is the Founder of URTHEKEY CRUSADES 2-SAVE-A-LIFE TRAINING PROGRAM and URTHEKEY North Philadelphia Block Captains and Community Association. A retired DVA Insurance Specialist for Disabled Veterans and Family Support Peer Specialist with Philadelphia Family Voices, she continues to serve her community through advocacy and education. She is active in organizations including POWER, DBHIDS Community of Care, and Community Behavioral Health, while volunteering as a mentor, election judge, and community health advocate. A Mental Health First Aider, Community Health Worker, and PENN Community Scholar, she is passionate about empowering others, building stronger communities, and enjoys crocheting, dancing, traveling, and sharing good food with loved ones.
Norma Perez
Norma Perez has dedicated much of her career to serving her community. She worked for the School District of Philadelphia for 17 years, supporting students and families in the city’s public education system. She later continued her service in healthcare, working for Delaware Memorial Crozer Hospital for two years. In addition to her professional experience, Norma has a deep personal connection to community healthcare, having been a patient of Fair Hill Community Physicians for over 40 years, giving her valuable insight into the importance of accessible, patient-centered care.
Charles Soltoff
Charles Soltoff’s career has been dedicated to health care marketing, most recently in the position of Chief Marketing Officer at Temple University Health System. At Temple, Charles led the Marketing, Communications, and Business Development functions that supported the organization’s role as both a national tertiary care leader and essential provider of quality care for all patients in the Philadelphia region.
